“Я – Мисс “Американская мечта” с тех пор, как мне исполнилось семнадцать”, – поет {Бритни Спирс:Britney Spears}. “Не важно, выхожу ли я на сцену или удираю на Филиппины, в журналах все равно напечатают мои “пикантные” фото”. Обратите внимание, что в выражениях “on the scene” и “to the Philippines” двум английским предлогам соответствует один русский: “на сцену” и “на Филиппины”. Употребление английских и русских предлогов существенно отличается. Проверьте, знаете ли вы, когда и какой из английских предлогов следует использовать:
1. Заполните пропуски предлогами in, on, at, to:
a) Britney Jean Spears was born … McComb, Mississippi, but her family moved … Kentwood, Louisiana, and she was raised there from a young age.
b) At the age of eleven, she earned a spot on “The New Mickey Mouse Club” … Florida. When the show was over, Spears returned … Kentwood and went … High School for a year.
c) Her debut album “Baby One More Time” immediately went … the top of the charts … Canada, Germany, Sweden, France, Japan, Taiwan and France, when it was released in early 1999.
d) She received a Star … the Hollywood walk of Fame in 2003.
e) She angered an animal rights group for wearing a fur jacket … the cover of her “Greatest Hits Album: My Prerogative”.
f) On 31 August 2007 Britney Spears returned … the music world performing “Gimme More”, her first single in three years, at the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards.
g) When Britney comes … Miami, she always stays … Paris Hilton’s place.
h) Britney Spears has recently released a music video that features her as an animated superhero … a futuristic world.
